Austin Area Homebrew Competition

At Flix Brewhouse in Round Rock – the nation’s only first-run cinema brewery – we want more people to love craft beer! This is why we have created a way for the homebrewer to showcase his/her beer creation to all of Round Rock and the surrounding area through the FLIX BREWHOUSE HOMEBREW COMPETITON!

The competition works like this: the homebrewer brings in a sample, the samples are judged by a panel consisting of, Justin Rizza – Brew Master, Scott Reed – Executive Chef, Michael Parish – Theater Manager, and Walt Powell – VP Operations, all from Flix Brewhouse. This panel then chooses the winning brew to be featured on tap at Flix Brewhouse!

There are different categories and types of beer that will be judged – so check back often to see which one of your favorite beers made it to the tap!

For those of you who are participating in the competition, please find your styles and due dates for the next quarter of competition below.

Round Rock Homebrewers Guild:
Belgian Trippel
Samples due 1/16 @ Flix
Make certain that your contact information is submitted along with your sample and recipe card
Only bottled samples are allowed
Please submit at least 1 bottle
Brewday to be identified, but will likely be the week of Jan 23
For release March 1

Carboys:
Kolsch
Samples due 2/20 @ Flix
Make certain that your contact information is submitted along with your sample and recipe card
Only bottled samples are allowed
Please submit at least 1 bottle
Brewday to be identified, but will likely be the week of Feb 27
For release April 1

Zealots:
Berliner Weisse
Samples due  @ Flix
Make certain that your contact information is submitted along with your sample and recipe card
Only bottled samples are allowed
Please submit at least 1 bottle
Brewday to be identified, but will likely be the week of 4/2
